Ottawa Vegan Drinks | Soirée Végane à Ottawa (HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST PARTY)

This month's Drinks Night will be a special Halloween-themed costume party! Dressing up isn't mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged, and there will be prizes for costumes in several categories, as voted on by you! We'll also have a photo booth set up to capture our awesome spooky costume creations and commemorate the evening!

Dress up in your most creative, spookiest or weirdest costumes and win prizes from local vegan-friendly establishments, including Astoria Bistro Botanique, Hometown Sports Grill, the Merry Dairy, Naturally Vero, Cinnaholic, Strawberry Blonde Bakery, VeganSupply.ca & more! The top three prizes will be worth at least $50 each.

There will be prizes for the following categories:

• Scariest costume

• Cutest costume

• Funniest costume

• Most vegan costume

• Best overall costume

• Most overall votes

There will also be live music from local band The Barley Hounds!

If you don't like dressing up, you can still come out to make new vegan friends and also vote for your favourite costumes!

1 x $50 gift certificate for Hometown Sports Grill

8 x gift certificates for a double scoop at the Merry Dairy

1 x $100 gift certificate for Naturally Vero's meal delivery service

Unlike most months, this will be a ticketed event, to help the establishment prepare appropriately. Tickets are $20 and this provides entry plus one drink of your choice (cocktail, mocktail, glass of wine or beer, etc.). Buy your ticket here, up to October 30!

Ottawa Vegan Drinks is a monthly social event where you can make new vegan friends at a local, vegan-friendly establishment. Please RSVP to receive event info and give us an idea of expected turnout.

What to do?

• Show up. Buy drinks. Buy food if you are hungry. Socialize. There is no cover charge and you are free to  spend whatever you choose.

• Be friendly! We will hand out name tags, so you can march right up to someone and greet them by name.

• Promote! If you represent an organization (either as an employee or volunteer or general supporter), talk about the organization and the work you've been involved in.

• Socialize! Talk about your vegan (or any!) interests, your favourite restaurant, your dream job for animals, your blog, whatever.

Ottawa Vegan Drinks est une soirée mensuelle où vous pouvez faire de nouveaux amis véganes chez un établissement local accommodant pour les végétaliens. Veuillez RSVP pour recevoir des informations sur l'événement et nous donner une idée du taux de participation attendu.

Quoi y faire?

• Venez. Achetez à boire. Achetez de la nourriture si vous avez faim. Socialisez. Il n’y a pas de prix d'entrée et vous êtes libre de dépenser ce que vous voulez.

• Être amical! Nous distribuerons des badges nominatifs afin que vous puissiez marcher jusqu'à quelqu'un et le saluer par son nom.

• Promouvez! Si vous représentez une organisation (que ce soit en tant qu'employé, bénévole ou sympathisant), parlez de l'organisation et de votre travail là-dedans.

• Socialisez! Parlez de vos intérêts (végétaliens ou autre!), de votre restaurant préféré, de votre travail de rêve pour les animaux, de votre blog, peu importe.
